Jesus said: “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. The bread that I will give is my body, given for the life of the world.” (J 6, 51).

Ježiš povedal: “Ja som živý chlieb, ktorý zostúpil z neba. Ak niekto bude jesť z tohto chleba, bude žiť naveky. Chlieb, ktorý ja dám, je moje telo, ktoré sa dáva za život sveta.” (J 6, 51).
“The feast at which Christ’s disciples repeated His words and consumed the bread and wine transformed into His body and blood was originally called the Breaking of Bread. Gradually it was combined with the reading of God’s Word and prayers to form the rites of the Mass.“

The Mass is the source of life for Catholics, at Mass we listen to the readings from Scripture, but we can also feed on the body of Christ, the real body, HIS body, and this gives us power. We Catholics believe so, this IS the real and true Jesus Christ. If God gives us such a gift, why not use it? What God gives to man cannot be described in words. And what God has prepared for us (after we die) – these wonders are also indescribable.
Svätá omša je pre katolíkov zdrojom života, pri nej počúvame čítania zo Svätého písma, ale môžeme sa aj živiť Kristovým telom, skutočným telom, JEHO telom, a to nám dáva silu. My katolíci tak veríme, že toto JE skutočný a pravý Ježiš Kristus. Ak nám Boh dáva takýto dar, prečo ho nevyužiť? To, čo Boh dáva človeku, sa nedá opísať slovami. A to, čo nám Boh pripravil (po našej smrti) – tieto zázraky sa tiež nedajú opísať.
