The Eucharist – a sacrament of love (spiritual growth)

The Eucharist is called the “sacrament of love” by St Thomas Aquinas. Why?

St Thomas called this sacrament “the sacrament of love” and “the proof of love”.

In the book by Piotr Koźlak CSsR entitled “O tym, co w życiu najważniejsze” (the book is in Polish), we can read the following text: “The Eucharist is ‘the sacrament of love’ because it was love that led Jesus to offer himself to us in this sacrament.”

The same book also contains such words:
“What greater excess of love can there be, than that the Creator dies out of love for His creatures?”

The Eucharist is our food, we can feed on it, and it gives us life, it gives us strength, it is real food. Our God wanted to leave Himself to us in the Eucharist and we should be very grateful to Him for this divine gift. May love for God abide in us and may the Eucharist sanctify and transform us.

Dare to live. It’s YOUR life.
