“La santità: l’eterno desiderio dell’anima”.

In May 2022 I read the book “Świętość – odwieczna tęsknota duszy” (in Polish); in English this title would be “Holiness – the eternal longing of the soul”. Each of us is called to holiness, God wants to sanctify us.
Nel maggio del 2022 ho letto il libro “Świętość – odwieczna tęsknota duszy” (in polacco); in inglese questo titolo sarebbe “Holiness – the eternal longing of the soul”. Ognuno di noi è chiamato alla santità, Dio vuole santificarci.
Here is a quote from the book: “John Paul II tried to show that the pursuit of personal holiness is revealed in the humanity of every human being, and thus can be realized by anyone at any time: during prayer, work, study, creative activity, meeting other people, practicing sports, discovering the beauty of nature, while exercising priestly, episcopal or papal ministry.” (the translation from Polish)
Ecco una citazione dal libro: “Giovanni Paolo II ha cercato di mostrare che la ricerca della santità personale si rivela nell’umanità di ogni essere umano, e quindi può essere realizzata da chiunque in qualsiasi momento: durante la preghiera, il lavoro, lo studio, l’attività creativa, l’incontro con altre persone, la pratica di sport, la scoperta della bellezza della natura, durante l’esercizio del ministero sacerdotale, episcopale o papale”.
So in all conditions and for each of us, we can strive for holiness because God has the power to transform and shape us, we are to be open to God’s grace.
Quindi, in ogni condizione e per ognuno di noi, possiamo tendere alla santità perché Dio ha il potere di trasformarci e plasmarci, dobbiamo essere aperti alla grazia di Dio.
Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus wrote: “The good God would not give me unrealistic desires, so even though I am so small, I can strive for holiness.” Nothing is impossible for God, also holiness is possible because God is Almighty.
Santa Teresa di Gesù Bambino ha scritto: “Il buon Dio non mi ha dato desideri irrealistici, quindi, anche se sono così piccolo, posso tendere alla santità.”
Nulla è impossibile a Dio, anche la santità è possibile perché Dio è onnipotente.
