(La fe en Dios y en su providencia)

I will begin today’s post with a quotation from the booklet of the Sacred Heart Priests “Czciciel Bożego Serca” (in Polish), no. 3/2016, page 1: “Saint Anthony had already in his youth the truths of the holy religion imprinted forever in his heart and professed them in word and deed. From childhood he revered the Church as his Mother. He adhered to what the Church taught with a strong and unshakable faith. His sermons were animated by this holy faith, by which he converted many unbelievers and to the faith. This faith was the guideline of his whole life.”
Comenzaré la entrada de hoy con una cita del folleto de los Sacerdotes del Sagrado Corazón “Czciciel Bożego Serca” (en polaco), nº 3/2016, página 1: “San Antonio tenía ya en su juventud las verdades de la santa religión impresas para siempre en su corazón y las profesaba de palabra y de obra. Desde la infancia veneró a la Iglesia como a su Madre. Se adhirió a lo que la Iglesia enseñaba con una fe fuerte e inquebrantable. Sus sermones estaban animados por esta santa fe, por la que convirtió a muchos incrédulos y descreídos a la fe. Esta fe fue la guía de toda su vida”.
Faith in God – I wish it for myself and everyone who reads this post. Spiritual life is a basis for development, not for everyone, but for some of us – yes. Belief in God and spirituality (e.g. Catholic spirituality) gives strength. It is better to believe than not to believe. Besides, who created this world if not God, as my friend says: “Somebody had to colour it all”. Faith in God’s providence allows us to persevere when major tragedies and problems befall us. From faith in God also comes the need and practice of prayer.
La fe en Dios – la deseo para mí y para todos los que lean este post. La vida espiritual es una base para el desarrollo, no para todos, pero para algunos de nosotros, sí. La creencia en Dios y la espiritualidad (por ejemplo, la católica) dan fuerza. Es mejor creer que no creer. Además, quién creó este mundo sino Dios, como dice mi amigo, “alguien tenía que colorearlo todo”. La fe en la providencia de Dios nos permite perseverar cuando nos sobrevienen grandes tragedias y problemas. De la fe en Dios nace también la necesidad y la práctica de la oración.
We should profess our faith with our lips, but our actions should be consistent with the faith we profess; otherwise, we are an anti-testimony of faith.
Let us require of ourselves fidelity to God’s commandments.
Debemos profesar nuestra fe con los labios, pero nuestras acciones deben ser coherentes con la fe que profesamos; de lo contrario, somos un antitestimonio de la fe.
Exijamos de nosotros mismos la fidelidad a los mandamientos de Dios.
