“The doctrine of Christ surpasses all the teachings of the saints; and he who has the spirit of this doctrine within him will always know how to find the manna hidden in it.” This sentence comes from Thomas a Kempis’ book ‘The Imitation of Christ’ (the translation from Polish version of the mentioned book)
“La doctrina de Cristo supera todas las enseñanzas de los santos; y quien tenga en su interior el espíritu de esta doctrina sabrá siempre encontrar el maná escondido en ella”. Esta frase procede del libro de Tomás de Kempis “La imitación de Cristo.”
The life and words of Jesus Christ in the Gospel are a great gift to us humans. If we believe in God in the Trinity and in Jesus our Redeemer, this faith empowers us to follow Jesus, to listen to Him and to live according to His teachings.
La vida y las palabras de Jesucristo en el Evangelio son un gran regalo para nosotros los humanos. Si creemos en Dios en la Trinidad y en Jesús nuestro Redentor, esta fe nos capacita para seguir a Jesús, para escucharle y vivir según sus enseñanzas.
Thomas a Kempis writes thus: “Whoever wishes to accept the word of Christ fully and sincerely must strive to conform his life to his life.” (translated from the Polish edition of the book “Imitation of Christ”)
Tomás de Kempis escribe así: “Quien quiera aceptar la palabra de Cristo de forma plena y sincera debe esforzarse por conformar su vida con la de él”. (traducido del polaco)
By our own strength we cannot do this, but supported by God’s grace we can. On the way to becoming more like Jesus, it helps to enjoy the graces of being nourished by the sacrament of the Eucharist. So let us hear the words of Jesus in the Gospel, Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life”, our way, our truth and our life. May He sanctify us, for nothing is impossible for God.

Con nuestras propias fuerzas no podemos hacerlo, pero apoyados por la gracia de Dios sí. En el camino para parecerse más a Jesús, ayuda el hecho de disfrutar de las gracias de ser alimentado por el sacramento de la Eucaristía. Así que hagamos caso a las palabras de Jesús en el Evangelio, Jesús es “el camino, la verdad y la vida”, nuestro camino, nuestra verdad y nuestra vida. Que nos santifique, porque nada es imposible para Dios.
