(Bog išče nas, grešnike.)
(This post is in English and Slovenian).
I will begin this post with a quote from Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen’s book “Seven Words of Jesus and Mary”. The following quote is a translation from the Polish version of the book.
Archbishop Sheen writes: “People living in filth rarely realise how filthy filth is. People living in sin generally do not understand how hideous sin is. It has the terrible property that the more we experience it, the less we know about it. We identify with it so closely that we do not perceive the depth of our humiliation or the height from which we have fallen.”
Everyone experiences the fall into sin, but we always have the chance and opportunity to return to God. The Lord God is always looking for us, He cares for us to return to His Love. We have in the Catholic Church the possibility of sacramental confession, which unites us with God, gives sanctifying grace; after reconciliation with God we can receive His Body into our hearts. How great these gifts are for us people so prone to sin!
We fall and we rise, such is our life. But continually rising and entrusting ourselves to God leads to a closer relationship with God. The Lord God does not reject us, He knows how prone we are to sin. When we pray for strength not to persist in sin, God Himself grants us His power. This awareness of God’s power transforming us gives us ever new hope that our lives will get better year after year. God desires our spiritual growth; He Himself shapes us as we surrender to His grace.
Padamo in vstajamo, takšno je naše življenje. Toda nenehno vstajanje in zaupanje Bogu vodi k tesnejšemu odnosu z Bogom.
Dare to live. It is YOUR life.
Upajte si živeti. To je vaše življenje.
