Jesus Christ, the true light that enlightens every man.

Ježiš Kristus, pravé svetlo, ktoré osvecuje každého človeka.

John Paul II’s encyclical Veritatis Splendor dates from 1993. In the introduction we read:
“Jesus Christ, the true light which enlightens every man

1 Called to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, ‘the true light that enlightens every man’ (Jn 1:9), people become ‘light in the Lord’ and ‘children of light’ (cf. Eph 5:8) and sanctify themselves through ‘obedience to the truth’ (cf. 1 Pet 1:22).”

Encyklika Veritatis Splendor Jána Pavla II. pochádza z roku 1993. V úvode čítame:
“Ježiš Kristus, pravé svetlo, ktoré osvecuje každého človeka

1. Ľudia, povolaní k spáse skrze vieru v Ježiša Krista, “pravé svetlo, ktoré osvecuje každého človeka” (Jn 1, 9), sa stávajú “svetlom v Pánovi” a “deťmi svetla” (porov. Ef 5, 8) a posväcujú sa “poslušnosťou pravde” (porov. 1 Pt 1, 22).

Jesus is the true light, he wants to enlighten, that is why he came into the world, to show us the way to God the Father. Opening ourselves to the light of Jesus can and does make us happy, our place is in Heaven, there is a ‘dwelling’ prepared for us.

Ježiš je pravé svetlo, chce osvietiť, preto prišiel na svet, aby nám ukázal cestu od Boha Otca. Otvorenie sa Ježišovmu svetlu nás môže urobiť šťastnými, naše miesto je v nebi, je tam pre nás pripravený “príbytok”.
