¿Qué celebra el 25 de diciembre?

Christmas is one of the biggest feasts. I am a Catholic and on this day I celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. God the Father sent His Son to earth so that Jesus Christ – the second Person of the Trinity – would save people. Jesus on earth did the will of His Father and died on the cross giving us salvation; Jesus reconciled us with God the Father.
La Navidad es una de las fiestas más importantes. Soy católico y en este día celebro el nacimiento de Jesucristo. Dios Padre envió a su Hijo a la tierra para que Jesucristo -la segunda Persona de la Trinidad- salvara a las personas. Jesús en la tierra hizo la voluntad de su Padre y murió en la cruz dándonos la salvación; Jesús nos reconcilió con Dios Padre.
The media avoid showing Jesus Christ, He is hardly there anymore, it seems that the media are totally secularised. What is left in them is the Christmas tree, the presents, Santa Claus. If, instead of Jesus – the little born baby Jesus – we are feeding the new generations with media “chaff”, how will the next generations experience this special Christmas? In my personal experience, I am seeing the tradition of family carol singing disappearing, fewer and fewer of the faithful are coming to Mass, so what is the future of the Church? Only God himself knows, the God who gave us Jesus to restore our faith in his mercy and love for us humans.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Los medios de comunicación evitan mostrar a Jesucristo, ya casi no está, parece que los medios están totalmente secularizados. Lo que queda en ellos es el árbol de Navidad, los regalos, Papá Noel. Si, en lugar de Jesús -el niño Jesús recién nacido-, alimentamos a las nuevas generaciones con “paja” de los medios de comunicación, ¿cómo vivirá la próxima generación esta Navidad tan especial? En mi experiencia personal, estoy viendo cómo desaparece la tradición de cantar villancicos en familia, cada vez son menos los fieles que acuden a misa, ¿cuál es el futuro de la Iglesia? Sólo Dios mismo lo sabe, el Dios que nos dio a Jesús para restaurar nuestra fe en su misericordia y amor por nosotros los humanos.
“Porque tanto amó Dios al mundo que dio a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo el que crea en él no perezca, sino que tenga vida eterna”.
