Il pensiero dell’arcivescovo Fulton J. Sheen sulla felicità

Arycbishop Fulton J. Sheen has written a valuable book, its English title is “Remade for Happiness. Achieving Life’s Purpose Through Spiritual Transformation” (I have the Polish version of this book). The author argues that true happiness can be found in God. Wealth and fame will not provide a permanent sense of happiness.
Il vescovo Fulton J. Sheen ha scritto un libro prezioso, il cui titolo inglese è “Remade for Happiness. Achieving Life’s Purpose Through Spiritual Transformation” (ho la versione polacca di questo libro). L’autore sostiene che la vera felicità si trova in Dio. La ricchezza e la fama non possono fornire un senso di felicità permanente.
Here is an excerpt from the aforementioned book (translated from Polish): “If we are guided by a constant good time, we have certainly discovered long ago that we never actually have fun, because we are constantly chasing happiness, and somehow we cannot catch it.”
Ecco un estratto del libro citato (tradotto dal polacco): “Se siamo guidati da un costante buon tempo, abbiamo certamente scoperto da tempo che in realtà non ci divertiamo mai, perché inseguiamo costantemente la felicità, e in qualche modo non riusciamo a prenderla”.
Happiness cannot be caught up with, and let us not even try to do so. Let’s let happiness come out of us, from within us, because we are created to be happy.
La felicità non si può raggiungere e non proviamo nemmeno a farlo. Lasciamo che la felicità esca da noi, da dentro di noi, perché siamo stati creati per essere felici.
