In the book by Paolo Curtaz we read: ‘Whoever wishes to receive Holy Communion should be fully incorporated into the Church and be in a state of grace, that is, without consciousness of mortal sin. If one is aware that he or she has committed a grave sin, he or she should enter the sacrament of reconciliation before receiving Holy Communion. It is also important to concentrate and pray, to observe the fasting established by the Church and to have an outward attitude (gestures, clothing) that expresses reverence for Christ.’
For me, the above explanation gives all that is needed to receive Holy Communion with dignity. Let us remember the conditions that are required to receive worthily into our hearts the Lord Jesus hidden in the Blessed Sacrament.
