‘Whoever wishes to receive Holy Communion should be fully incorporated into the Church and be in a state of grace, that is, without consciousness of mortal sin. If one is aware that he or she has committed a grave sin, he or she should enter the sacrament of reconciliation before receiving Holy Communion.'
