Find your mission – it’s possible.

In Carmine Gallo's book 'The Storyteller's Secret' (in the Polish edition on page 232) I read this text (translation from Polish): "We have an incredible opportunity to change the world. I will change the face of ALS. I will make philanthropists hear about it. (…) The mission became personal and Pete, (…) was determined to carry it out. He already knew the answer to the question, (…): "What is my mission in life?" His mission became to publicise the disease

“The Storyteller’s Secret” – some quotes and ideas from Carmine Gallo’s book

The book mentioned in the title of this post is about 300 pages long (the Polish edition) and is full of evidence that storytelling is a great tool with several applications in the current world (e.g. to educate the audience). Carmine Gallo, a storytelling expert, "reveals the secrets of creating great narratives that inspire, motivate, educate, build brands, create social movements and change lives".

“Never complain, never explain. Resist the temptation to defend yourself or make excuses.”― Brian Tracy

“You possess the power to change any area of your life for the better.” (A. Robbins)

"(…) you have the power to change any area of your life for the better. So where is this power? And how can you use it? We all know that to achieve new results, you need to take new action. But we need to understand that at the heart of every action is a decision. The power of decision is therefore the power of change." (A. Robbins)

Failure is part of life, let’s not be afraid of it, things don’t always work out the first time.

Things don't work out right away, sometimes we have to be persistent, sometimes it takes effort and hard work to make plans and dreams come true. This applies, for example, to learning a foreign language: anyone who has prepared for the C2 exam knows how much effort and time is required.

“(…) to help with the tsunami disaster on the Thai islands?”(…) “(…) pomagać w usuwaniu skutków tsunami na tajskich wyspach?”

Discovering your mission can be one of the most important events in your life, whether you do the mission during your work or leisure time, or in micro-retirement (which the aforementioned author, T. Ferriss, writes about). What is a mission? For me, it is something that gives a deeper meaning to life, it is a kind of vocation, something that makes us happy because we give the best of ourselves to other people.

Focus on solutions, not problems.

Let me start with a quote from A. Robbins' book "Notes from a Friend" (my copy of the book is in Polish). Here is that quote: "I also kept reminding myself that I needed to focus on what I wanted to achieve, to focus on solutions rather than problems."

“One of the guidelines for speakers at TED conferences is to avoid ‘following the beaten track’.” (Carmine Gallo)”

The quote in the title of this post comes from page 101 of Carmine Gallo's book "The Storyteller's Secret" (I have my copy in Polish). One can think how to use the knowledge about storytelling (contained e.g. in the above-mentioned book) in the activities of authors, bloggers, but also all who want to educate the audience in some way.

“Remember: data provides information and stories allow you to educate, to breathe soul into the data…” (Carmine Gallo, The Storyteller’s Secret)
